My vision is built around three pillars. Each one outlines what I believe we need to accomplish, what I will focus on, and the actions I will take to move Prince George forward.

Our community should be a place where families can find a home, access the services they need, enjoy safe and vibrant neighbourhoods, and build a future. That means thinking beyond the next four years and making decisions that leave Prince George stronger for the next generation.

Pillar 1: Strong Foundations 

Taking care of what we have and preparing for the future. 

Prince George residents have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in community facilities, parks, roads, and public buildings. We need to find a balance between  funding new infrastructure and ensuring  we are taking better care of what we already own by maximizing its value, and ensuring today’s investments remain strong for the future.

My Goals:
  • Revitalize and Maximize Community Assets
    Take better care of the infrastructure and facilities we already own while finding ways to maximize their value to residents.
  • Build a Strong and Diversified Economy
    Attract investment, support local businesses, and strengthen Prince George’s role as the economic hub of Northern BC.
  • Responsible Financial Stewardship
    Protect taxpayer dollars, maintain essential services, and make decisions that support long-term financial sustainability.
My Plans:
  • Revitalize and Maximize Community Assets
    • Assess long-term opportunities for aging city buildings to determine opportunities to activate for community use such as recreation, community services, arts, and community programming. This could be done seasonally or year-round.
    • Explore opportunities to include mixed-use or leasable space to increase revenue when building new civic facilities
    • Continue to move the civic core development project forward with options going to referendum for community consent. 
    • Continue to build strong relationships with the provincial and federal government with the goal of securing projects and funding to improve infrastructure and secure new capital projects. 
    • Work with staff to review all major city assets to ensure they are delivering maximum community value, utilization, and return on taxpayer investment.
  • Build a Strong and Diversified Economy
    • Develop a strategy to capitalize on the new cardiac care tower at UHNBC This could include increased housing and recruiting new opportunities to Prince George such as  health technology, research, and training. 
    • Work with YXS to continue pursuing  opportunities to establish the city as a  transportation and distribution hub.  
    • Review municipal policies and processes to improve competitiveness for new development.
    • Continue advocacy for local procurement and hire local contractors where appropriate to keep jobs in Prince George. 
    • Ensure that city infrastructure planning supports anticipated growth.
    • Reduce unnecessary barriers to business investment and expansion and improve responsiveness and predictability within development and permitting processes.
    • Support redevelopment of underutilized commercial properties with priority in downtown. 
    • Encourage residential growth that aligns with existing infrastructure investments.
  • Responsible Financial Stewardship
    • Continue using multi-year financial planning to support responsible growth, protect essential services, and keep tax increases as affordable as possible, with the goal to not exceed 3% in 2027 and decreasing in subsequent years. 
    • Require all major capital projects to include long-term operating, maintenance, repair, and replacement plans before approval.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, leverage technology, and improve how residents access municipal services.
    • Grow the commercial and industrial tax base to reduce pressure on residential taxpayers while supporting long-term financial sustainability. 
    • Continue to provide clear, easy-to-understand public reporting on budgets, major projects, asset conditions, and progress toward Council priorities.
    • Aggressively pursue provincial and federal funding opportunities that reduce costs for local taxpayers and accelerate priority community projects.
    • Work to minimize municipal costs associated with provincial and federal projects and advocate for funding arrangements that protect local taxpayers.
    • Conduct regular service reviews to ensure City programs continue delivering value, meet community needs, and use taxpayer dollars effectively. 

Pillar 2: Growing Together

Building neighbourhoods that work for the people who live in them.

As Prince George grows, we need to make sure our neighbourhoods have the housing, infrastructure, parks, transportation, and services people need to thrive.

My Goals:
  • Build Complete and Connected Neighbourhoods
    Invest in roads, sidewalks, parks, transportation, accessibility, and connections between the places people live, work, learn, and play.
  • Support Housing and Smart Community Growth
    Increase housing choices, support attainable housing, encourage thoughtful infill, and make sure growth keeps pace with infrastructure.
  • Strengthen Community Sustainability
    Support local food systems, protect our natural environment, strengthen community resilience, and continue building our relationship with Lheidli T’enneh.
My Plans:
    • Build Complete and Connected Neighbourhoods
      • Continue investing in road and sidewalk maintenance, renewal, and rehabilitation. 
      • Continue investing in neighbourhood parks, playgrounds, and public spaces, with priority given to areas where investment is most needed.
      • Expand active transportation infrastructure where it improves safety, accessibility, and connectivity. 
      • Improve connections between neighbourhoods, schools, parks, recreation facilities, commercial areas, and community services.
      • Continue advocating for dependable, accessible, and efficient public transit that meets the needs of residents throughout Prince George. 
      • Incorporate accessibility considerations into all major infrastructure projects. 
      • Support age-friendly, inclusive, and universally accessible community design principles. 
      • Work with residents to identify and address neighbourhood traffic safety concerns through traffic calming, crosswalk improvements, and safer school routes. 
      • Prioritize neighbourhoods to ensure residents can safely walk, cycle, or roll to schools, parks, recreation, and local services. 
      • Continue improving street lighting in neighbourhoods, parks, trails, and other public spaces where safety concerns have been identified.
    • Support Housing and Smart Community Growth
      • Support a variety of housing types, including affordable housing and “missing middle” housing, to meet the changing needs of residents at every stage of life. 
      • Encourage housing development in locations that make efficient use of existing infrastructure and support complete neighbourhoods. 
      • Support partnerships and policies that increase attainable housing options for young families, seniors, and the local workforce. 
      • Prioritize infill and redevelopment opportunities that make better use of existing municipal infrastructure and services.
      • Continue improving development approval and permitting processes to reduce delays while maintaining appropriate community and environmental standards. 
      • Work with School District 57 to ensure school capacities are considered when looking at large neighbourhood developments. 
      • Protect City-owned parks and green spaces while planning for future recreation needs as our community grows. 
      • Complete the 2028 Official Community Plan review in partnership with residents to ensure it reflects Prince George’s long-term vision for growth. 
  • Strengthen Community Sustainability
  • Implement the City’s Food Charter by collaborating with community organizations, schools, local growers, and regional partners to expand access to locally produced food and strengthen food security. 
  • Support community gardens, urban agriculture, and local food initiatives that improve food security and strengthen neighbourhood connections. Preserve and enhance parks, trails, waterways, and green spaces that contribute to recreation, environmental health, and quality of life. 
  • Work with the Regional District to explore expanded recycling services and the feasibility of curbside compost collection. 
    • Continue building respectful and collaborative partnerships with Lheidli T’enneh that advance shared priorities, economic development, and community well-being in accordance with our Memorandum of Understanding. 
    • Promote opportunities for residents to learn about Lheidli T’enneh history, culture, and language. 
    • Support initiatives that improve community resilience to flooding, wildfire, and other environmental risk

Creating a community that is safe, welcoming, active, and worth being proud of.

I love living in Prince George, and I want others to have the same opportunity to enjoy our community, feel safe and welcome, and be proud to call Prince George home.

  • Build Safe, Welcoming and Well-Maintained Public Spaces

Improve public safety, revitalize downtown, and work with our partners to address complex social challenges.

  • Enhance Recreation, Parks, and Community Life

Invest in parks, recreation, arts, culture, sport, and community spaces that bring people together.

  • Support Families and Build Community

Strengthen family supports, create opportunities for connection, and make Prince George a welcoming place for people of all ages and abilities.

My Plans:
  • Build Safe, Welcoming, and Well-Maintained Public Spaces
    • Incorporate Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles into neighbourhood improvements, parks, streetscapes, and public infrastructure projects. 
    • Develop a Night-Time Economy Strategy, modelled on leading municipalities such as Ottawa, to encourage safe evening activity, entertainment, dining, and community events. 
    • Advocate for additional provincial investments in mental health, addictions, and supportive housing.
    • Advocate for expanded addiction treatment, recovery, and supportive services for residents seeking help. 
    • Pilot enhanced bylaw coverage in the downtown core, including extended evening and overnight enforcement where needed. 
    • Explore a Downtown Business Resilience Fund to assist businesses facing extraordinary costs associated with repeated vandalism and public safety impacts. 
    • Support the development of a community navigation centre that brings health, housing, and social service organizations together to provide coordinated, wrap-around support. 
    • Prioritize lighting improvements in parks, trails, and public spaces where safety concerns have been identified. 
  • Enhance Recreation, Parks, and Community Life
    • Continue investing in parks, playgrounds, trails, and civic recreation facilities to ensure they remain safe, accessible, and well maintained. 
    • Ensure the Aquatic Centre renovation is completed successfully while planning for the long-term sustainability of all major recreation facilities. 
    • Support affordable access to recreation programs for residents of all ages. 
    • Support continued investment in arts, culture, and library services that strengthen learning, creativity, and community connection. 
    • Develop a Recreation and Community Spaces Strategy that identifies opportunities to increase year-round use of parks, facilities, and public spaces. 
    • Prioritize investments in neighbourhood parks and playgrounds to ensure every family has access to high-quality recreation close to home. 
    • Further enhance safety and accessibility in our parks and community gathering spaces. 
    • Support festivals, tournaments, and cultural events that strengthen community pride, attract visitors, and support local businesses. 
    • Encourage partnerships that increase community programming opportunities. 
    • Continue positioning Prince George as the premier destination for major sporting events, conferences, tournaments, and cultural celebrations. 
  • Support Families and Build Community
  • Advocate for expanded childcare spaces and early learning opportunities. 
  • Support partnerships that improve access to community services for families. 
  • Work with other levels of government to address barriers including a lack of mental health support, access to resources within the medical system and improved patient experience. 
  • Continue to activate public spaces such as Canada Games Plaza and our premier parks through programming, events, recreation, and community partnerships. 
  • Support the development of coordinated community hubs that bring health, housing, social, and community services together to better serve residents. 
  • Continue improving access to clean, safe, and accessible public washrooms throughout the community. 
  • Support programs and events that bring residents of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities together. 
  • Strengthen partnerships with UNBC and CNC and help enhance their advocacy efforts to ensure they remain strong educational options within our community.
  • Support local arts, culture, heritage, and festivals that celebrate Prince George’s unique identity and strengthen community pride. 
  • Recognize and support the volunteers and community organizations that strengthen neighbourhoods and improve quality of life. 
  • Encourage opportunities for residents to participate in civic life through volunteering, neighbourhood initiatives, and community events.

Taxes & Spending

Taxpayers deserve strong services and responsible financial management.

Keep tax increases affordable, target 4% or less, improve transparency, pursue outside funding, and regularly review City services. 
Neighbourhoods & Transportation Every neighbourhood deserves safe, connected, and well-maintained infrastructure. Invest in roads, sidewalks, parks, lighting, transit, active transportation, and safer connections between neighbourhoods and services.
Housing & Growth More housing choices are needed, while ensuring growth keeps pace with infrastructure. Support missing-middle and attainable housing, encourage infill, streamline approvals, and plan growth around existing infrastructure.
Environment & Food Security A growing city must protect the natural spaces and resources that make Prince George a great place to live. Strengthen local food systems, support community gardens, protect parks and waterways, improve recycling and explore curbside composting.
Community Safety & Downtown Public safety requires both well-maintained spaces and meaningful action on complex social challenges. Improve lighting and public spaces, strengthen downtown bylaw coverage, and advocate for more mental health, addictions, treatment, and supportive housing resources.
Parks, Recreation & Culture Recreation, arts, culture, and community events make Prince George a better place to live and visit. Invest in parks and recreation, improve year-round facility use, support arts and culture, and attract major sporting and cultural events.
Families & Community Prince George should be a place where families and young people want to stay and build a life.  Advocate for childcare, strengthen community services, activate public spaces, support education, and invest in programs that bring people together.
Lheidli T’enneh & Reconciliation Strong relationships with Lheidli T’enneh are an important part of Prince George’s future.
